ITS Members Meeting – The Connected Vehicle
8 February 2012

ITS South Africa will host the first Members Networking Meeting of 2012 as a breakfast session on Wednesday 8 February 2012 in Pretoria. Details will be confirmed upon registration. The topic is “The Connected Vehicle” Thinus Booysen, lecturer in the Computer and Control Systems Group in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the Stellenbosch University will do the presentation about local research on connected vehicles.

This is an exciting topic that is paving the way for many innovations and is driving much of the current international ITS agenda.

Join us to hear about these developments and catch up with ITS colleagues during this members networking breakfast meeting. The members meeting is free for ITSSA members and R250.00 for non-members. Registration is essential.

Summit on Intelligent Transport Systems as Driver for Economic Growth
8 March 2012

Members and interested individuals are invited to participate in the Summit on Intelligent Transport Systems as Driver for Economic Growth. The summit will take place on 8 March 2012 in Cape Town in partnership with the ITS Policy Committee of the International Road Federation and the City of Cape Town.

The Summit aims to help mobilise investment for new ITS deployment projects and continued funding to operate and maintain ITS operations. The summit programme features outstanding speakers and we are proud to announce as a confirmed keynote speaker MEC Robin Carlisle, Provincial Minister for Transport and Public Works, Western Cape, and Member of the Mayoral Committee for Transport for the City of Cape Town, MMC Brett Herron.

IBTTA Summit in South Africa

11 – 13 March 2012

Back-to-back with the ITS Summit on Transport as Driver for Economic Growth and Development on 8 March, the International Bridge, Tunnel & Turnpike Association (IBTTA) is hosting a Transport Summit in Cape Town. The IBTTA event takes place on 11 March 2012. It offers members the opportunity to find out about international trends and opportunities, as well as catching up with industry colleagues from all over the world.
