UITP

UITP is the international organisation for public transport authorities and operators, policy decision-makers, scientific institutes and the public transport supply and service industry.

SAICE TRANSPORTATION DIVISION

Planning, design and safe operation of highways, roads, airport runways, streets and their relationships with adjacent land and other modes of transportation.

Purpose: To advance the study, knowledge and application of engineering dealing with planning, design and operation of highways, roads and streets, their networks, terminals, abutting land and relationships with other modes of transportation.

IBEC

ITS South Africa is also participating in the work of IBEC. IBEC is a cooperative working group set up to coordinate and expand international efforts, to exchange information and techniques, and evaluate benefits and costs of ITS. IBEC brings together the best knowledge and experience and is the focal point for discussion and debate of interest to the international ITS evaluation community. IBEC encourages more effective use of ITS evaluation information so that decision-makers can make more informed ITS investments. ITS South Africa CEO Dr Paul Vorster is currently serving on the IBEC Management Committee.
